Macmillian Cancer Information & Support Service
We work in partnership with Bolton People Affected by Cancer, Macmillan Cancer Support and NHS Bolton Clinical Commissioning Group to deliver a Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Service on site at the hospice.
The service is located in Giles House on Chorley New Road and was launched in June 2015.
It is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am-4pm and aims to provide information, advice and support to people affected by cancer including benefits advice, information about support groups, workshops and ‘look good, feel better’ sessions.
The service is staffed by Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Specialists and trained volunteers and will eventually be delivered from three sites in Bolton.
We provide a confidential, drop in service for anyone affected by cancer. This includes people who:
- Require information about cancer
- Have a cancer diagnosis
- Have survived cancer
- Are living with the consequences of a cancer diagnosis
- Are looking to reduce the risks of cancer
- Are a carer, relative, or a friend of someone with cancer
- Are health professionals
