Families and Carers
Carers come in many guises and can be wives, husbands, partners, daughters, sons, parents, grandparents, friends or neighbours. At some point in life any one of us can find ourselves in this role.
Looking after a loved one who has a life-limiting illness can be tiring and distressing. As a carer you may need help in adjusting to this new role.
We can offer:
- Someone to talk to
- Advice and support on caring for someone
- Advice on managing medication, nutrition and medical issues
- Relaxation and management of stress
- Advice on financial support – our social work team is available by appointment
Bolton Hospice offers 24 hour advice for patients, carers and healthcare professionals on palliative care and end of life care issues.
We are committed to supporting family and friends throughout their contact with the hospice, and this includes support after a patient has died. Please click here for more information on bereavement support.
If you're a family member or a carer, we are here to help. Please call us on 01204 663 066 if you have any questions or need further information.
