Day Care offers a range of benefits to patients:

It provides a pleasant and relaxing day out, while carers at home have some time to themselves
It gives patients the opportunity to meet other people, get to know the Hospice team and ask advice
It can provide fresh approaches to care and support, for example through complementary therapies
It gives an opportunity for patients to talk about their illness and how it is affecting them and their families

When is Day care provided?
Patients normally attend one day a week from Monday to Friday, usually between 10am and 3pm

Where is Day Care provided?
We have a new purpose-built unit at the Hospice with its own entrance. There is vehicle access up to the main door, and easy access to parking.

Can relatives and carers come along?
Relatives and carers are welcome to accompany a patient on their first Day Care visit, and afterwards by invitation. There is a monthly halfday carers' support session.
