Lottery Terms & Conditions

Joining and information
On receipt of your request to join the membership lottery, Bolton Hospice Lottery will send you an introduction letter advising you of your unique membership number. This has been generated randomly by our membership software during our application process.

Privacy and data protection
Bolton Hospice promises to protect your personal data and not to misuse it.

To protect your personal data, Bolton Hospice uses a special secure hosting service.

When you make a donation or pay your lottery subscription, your personal data and debit or credit card details will remain on the Bolton Hospice Lottery secure server.

Bolton Hospice Lottery promise that your data is protected by the highest level of encryption commercially available and use a high grade firewall to ensure that your data is kept safe.

At no time will your debit or credit card details be passed over the internet, these are always retained safely on the Bolton Hospice Lottery server.

Bolton Hospice, using its own private login and password simply view the secure hosting site and read off your details, including your debit or credit card information.

We then use our own merchant facilities to authorise your debit or credit card and transfer your payment into our bank account.

Age verification
The requirements of the Gambling Act 2005 mean that Bolton Hospice now has a statutory duty to verify that you are 16 years old or over.

Your payment
In return for your subscription payment, your unique membership number will be entered into the weekly draw carried out normally every Friday. The weekly cost of entry is £1 in advance.

Credit card information
We promise to store your credit card information securely (please see privacy and data protection section above). We only store credit card information for our regular payment members.

Credit card automatic renewal payments
Your authority is required to set up a regular payment using your credit card, and this can be done either by telephone on 01204 663077 or by email at lottery@boltonhospice.org, unless you submit your authorisation via our website. Your regular payments will continue until you cancel them either by telephone or email, providing us with your original credit card details as proof.

Cancellation
If you wish to cancel your membership you may do so at any time. Please contact the office on 01204 663077 or email us on lottery@boltonhospice.org

If you are in credit at the time of cancellation, we will, in most cases, refund any monies due in the form of a cheque payment made out to the member's name within one week. However, if you pay by credit card then your refund will be re-credited back onto your credit card account.

Prizes and notification
You will be notified in writing of any prize that you win within one week of the draw. A cheque for your prize amount will be sent with your notification letter. Our winning weekly numbers are publicized in the Bolton News and on our website here.

Right to amend
Bolton Hospice generally reserves the right to amend or modify these terms and conditions without notice.
However, specific terms applying to regular credit card payments, for example the date of account debit, may only be changed with the card holder's consent and authorisation.

Self-exclusion policy
An instruction to be self-excluded, as defined in the Gambling Act 2005, from the Bolton Hospice Lottery weekly draw or any other one-off prize draws that Bolton Hospice Lottery Limited organise, may be submitted in writing, by email, by fax or by phone to the Bolton Hospice Lottery office.

Self-excluded customers will not be sent any one-off prize draw tickets unless we have been notified otherwise.

Customers wishing to use this facility will not be able to rejoin the lottery for a minimum of 6 months from the date of exclusion.
