What is Gift Aid?
Under this Government Scheme, Bolton Hospice can reclaim the tax made on donations by UK taxpayers.
If you pay UK income tax, the value of your donation will increase by almost a third, yet it won't cost you a penny more. For example:
Your gift of £10 would be worth £12.82 with Gift Aid
How to donate with Gift Aid
Please download the simple Gift Aid form, print it out, complete, sign and return it to us by post.
You'll first need to check if your employer offers this scheme. If they do, then complete our Payroll Giving form and return it to us at the address shown on the form. We'll do the rest.
The Giving Form is saved as a PDF file which you can view through Acrobat Reader. If you don't currently have Acrobat Reader, you can download here free of charge
How Gift Aid Works
The amount of tax you pay in a financial year must be at least equal to the amount of tax reclaimed by Bolton Hospice in the same year, even if this is paid in the form of lower rate (10%) Income Tax. Amounts across a whole year are calculated, so you don't have to be a regular taxpayer. The amount of tax we will claim back will be approximately 28% of the total value of your donations in a particular financial year. If you are a higher rate taxpayer you are entitled to claim back the difference between the standard rate that we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. Please contact your tax office for more details.
