Bolton Hospice VolunteersWho can volunteer?
Anyone with 2 -3 hours a week or more to spare can volunteer. This can include parents with young children, retired people, students aged 16+ and people looking to improve their job prospects.

What help is needed?
Our volunteers help out in a number of roles including:

  • Patient care on the ward and in BHSS
  • Patient drivers
  • Reception
  • Bereavement support
  • Garden maintenance
  • Administration and clerical support
  • Helping with fundraising and lottery events
  • Helping in our charity shops

More information on our volunteer roles can be found on the application form, available in the volunteer vacancies section.

When is my help needed?
You can volunteer during the week or at weekends, either in the day or in the evening. If you're unable to make a regular commitment you could join our emergency cover team, or perhaps help at some of our fundraising events.

Am I qualified?
You don't need any special qualifications or experience to be a volunteer, as full training will be given.
