Parking
Parking at the Blundell will be limited as there will be festive stalls located in this area. Please consider car sharing or being dropped off on the day or public transport. Think before you park.

Weather
Our participants safety is very important to us and in the event of inclement weather conditions we may need to cancel this event. As this event covers rugged and exposed areas we are monitoring the weather forecast daily. If we decide to cancel this event due to weather creating unsafe walking conditions we will let you know 48 hours prior to the event. Please check our website, email and social media for updates leading to the event. Under these circumstances, the participant’s payments towards the fee will be refunded if requested, less a contribution to costs already incurred by the organiser, such as the event costumes.

To ensure the safety of all participants we have some event rules/guidelines which must be adhered to at all times:
• Please do not bring along children in pushchairs as the terrain is very unsuitable.
• Walking shoes/boots or good quality trainers with thick socks are recommended for this rugged and slippy terrain.
• Wear warm clothing as it is likely to be cold (colder than you think especially nearing the pike). We advise wearing several thinner layers rather than one thick layer so you can add/remove clothing as necessary to regulate body temperature.
• Please ensure that your festive outfit is tucked into your socks or boots if it is too long
• Lead Walkers will set the pace for the walk and should not be overtaken
• All dog owners must keep their dogs on a short lead and pick up any foul they leave.
• There will be a back walker that will always remain behind the last person walking
• This is a walk, not a race and any person found running will be removed from the event
• Under no circumstances must walkers take short cuts or veer from the specified route
• Anyone with a medical condition should bring relevant medication with them. Please also declare your condition on the back of your walker number that should be on your wrist at all times.
• There will be toilets at The Blundell Arms. There may be a queue at the toilets so please be patient!
• Ensure that you wear sensible shoes and socks as this 5-mile approx. walk is over some rugged terrain. We would recommend thick ankle socks or walking socks and good quality trainers or walking shoes/boots
• Wear warm clothing as it is likely to be cold. We advise wearing several thinner layers rather than one thick layer so you can add/remove clothing as necessary to regulate body temperature
• Please ensure that your festive outfit is tucked into your socks or boots if it is too long

• All dog owners must keep their dogs on a short lead and pick up any foul they leave
