New solar panels installed at Bolton Hospice

A fantastic new solar panel system has recently been installed at Bolton Hospice by local firm Nightingale Electrical.

Bolton Hospice successfully secured funding to install the solar panel system.

The funds were kindly donated primarily from the Wolfson Foundation who have previously helped fund the building for the future project at the hospice, as well as additional funding from local trust Bradshaw Gass.

The Solar PV system will generate approximately 45,000kWh per year, significantly reducing Bolton Hospice’s electricity bills so they can help more families when they need it most.

“A huge thank you to the Wolfsen Foundation & Bradshaw Gass Trust for funding this exciting project, helping us to become more sustainable and saving vital pounds in the process, as well as a big thank you to Nightingale Electrical for their expertise and minimizing disruption to the hospice.

Installing solar panels is a long-term sustainable solution to tackle rising energy costs, as well as helping us to protect our environment. Using a renewable energy source will reduce our carbon emissions, ensuring we can provide sustainable healthcare for the future. It will also greatly reduce our energy costs, which means even more of our income can be spent directly on providing our specialist care and support.”

Bolton Hospice is committed to minimizing its impact of its activities on the environment and is working hard on other initiatives to minimize waste, save money and reduce their carbon footprint such as a brand new Christmas tree recycling scheme and reducing waste in their retail operations.
