Annual Leave

The hospice offers a generous annual leave entitlement, starting at 35 days a year including bank holidays, rising to 40 days with long service (pro rata for part-time employees). Continuation of service from the NHS is offered in respect of annual leave.

Pension Scheme

Bolton Hospice operates a choice of three pension schemes. We support the NHS pension scheme, which means eligible employees have the option to remain in the NHS scheme. We also offer an alternative contributory scheme where employees contribute 3% of their salary and the hospice will contribute a further 4% (after 3 months service). Bolton Hospice operates a third contributory auto-enrollment scheme for staff who would prefer to contribute a lower amount.

Health Care Cash Plan

We offer all employees enrollment into the UK Health Care Cash Plan after 3 months service. The hospice pays for you to be a member at Level 1 and employees have the option to upgrade for a small monthly fee.

Pay Increments

Employees receive an incremental rise within their pay band or scale annually in addition to any cost of living increase that may be implemented.
