Meet the team

I have lived in Bolton for over 20 years and worked locally as a Partner at Cowgills Chartered Accountants for over 30 years. I welcomed the opportunity to offer my commercial skills and experience to one of Bolton`s finest charities.

Linda is a retired Environmental Health Officer, who led the Regulatory Services team on behalf of Bolton Council. She was appointed as a trustee in July 2018. Linda currently sits on the Building and Health and Safety committees.

I first started volunteering at the hospice attending the Fundraising Committee. I was elected to Board in 2010 and currently serve as Chairman of the Building Committee, sit on the Finance Committee and also act as the Dementia Champion for the Board.

A Boltonian through and through, I have lived less than ten minutes from the hospice my entire life - a hospice to which I have a close affinity having lost both my father and older brother some time ago here to cancer, and where I witnessed first-hand how incredibly well looked after they were in their final days.

I am deeply honoured to be part of an extremely dedicated board of trustees, a whole host of professional staff and over 900 strong volunteers. It is their passion and professionalism that attracted me to serve the cause of Bolton Hospice.

Ian was co-opted onto the Board in July 2018. Ian has been involved in supporting the hospice through The Bolton News for many years and is keen to bring his communications and PR/journalistic expertise to the Board of Trustees.

I started my very first role 20 years ago working as a social worker in a hospital, hospice and the community and ever since then I have been a passionate advocate for delivering truly integrated and holistic high quality care.

Sam is a Registered Nurse, qualified Specialist Practitioner in the home, District Nurse, Queens Nurse and Nurse Prescriber. She was appointed to the Board of Trustees in 2023, bringing a wealth of nursing experience with her.

Lisa's Head of Clinical Services role supports the nursing team to provide the highest standard of specialist palliative care.

Jenny joined the team at Bolton Hospice in January 2019 as our Consultant in Palliative Medicine.

Masud, an accountant by profession with over 25 years’ experience, joined Bolton Hospice in 2012 as Finance & Corporate Services Director.

Alice joined the hospice in 2011 as our Director of Income Generation & Communications and became Deputy Chief Executive in 2024.

Dr Aurelia (Ellie) McCann became Medical Director at Bolton Hospice in July 2017, and joined the hospice full time as Medical Director and Consultant Physician with a specialist interest in Palliative Medicine in April 2020.
