Changes to donated goods
Published to Other News on Apr 01, 2019
Unfortunately Bolton Hospice now have restrictions on the volume of non-recyclable goods that we can dispose of FOC in conjunction with R4GM and GMCA stipulations.
Of course we still need our Bolton Public to donate their pre-loved items though there will come a point within this financial year that we will need to pay to dispose of some of our generated waste. We do want to create a good working relationship with R4GM and GMCA and work with them for a greener environment!
With this in mind we are putting stricter collection and accepting of donation procedures in place.
- All goods must be in good clean, unbroken saleable condition.
- Goods may be refused at the point of collection if they do not fit into our saleable category. (this is usually addressed by phone at the point of arranging)
- The volume of books we accept will be restricted. Restrictions will be:- do not accept “well used books”, “out of date educational books”, “large volume of encyclopedia books”.
- With the exception of Furniture Plus and Astley Bridge the smaller charity shops will not be accepting furniture and electrical appliances – donors will be advised to phone our collections department to arrange a collection.
We do hope that the Bolton Public can work alongside us to help continue to raise awareness of Bolton Hospice, assist us with our restrictions which will keep our costs low.
As always, we are extremely grateful for your donations and the income that they help us to generate for the hospice!
