Study Day for Enhanced Care Coordinators
Published to Other News on Oct 31, 2018
Debbie Bewley, our Educator for Care Homes has facilitated a special study day designed for people in the enhanced care coordinator roles at local care homes in Bolton and surrounding areas.
The full day course will feature an array of expertise and knowledge provided by various staff from Bolton Hospice including the chaplain and bereavement support coordinator, complementary and creative therapists and the Macmillan Cancer Support manager.
The subjects covered will include communication skills with people at end of life, the services Macmillan can provide and how to refer people to them for support, an introduction to complementary therapy in palliative care, caring for a patient who is dying and care after death.
The hope is that the skills and knowledge acquired by the Enhanced Care Coordinators will be cascaded through their own organisations to create a strong foundation for palliative and end of life care services in Bolton and the borough.
If you work in a care home and would like to access the training and education services provided by Bolton Hospice, please visit the Health Care Professionals section of the website.
