Meet Lisa

Lisa "I first joined the hospice when I started volunteering on Giles House reception in 2015, before starting as the Volunteer Bank Admin Assistant in September 2021.  When my predecessor Margaret retired in March I took over as Acting Volunteer Co-Ordinator, before applying for and getting the newly created role of Volunteer Development Manager.

"My role involves being involved in all aspects of the Bolton Hospice Volunteer experience, from recruitment and induction of new volunteers, to arranging Christmas parties, collating stories for the newsletter and training.  It’s very varied and no day is ever the same!

"The best thing about my job is, without doubt, the volunteers.  They are all amazing and work so hard for us – the hospice couldn’t run without them.  Our youngest are 16 and we have volunteers well into their 80s, and whether they help on the ward, in the shops, in the garden or fundraise for us, wherever they are they do a fantastic job."
