Retail Administrator


Due to a number of promotions and internal changes, Bolton Hospice has some exciting opportunities to join its retail team.

The team’s role is to generate income for the hospice through our nine charity shops, Furniture Plus shop, online sales, The Old Bank Café and gift shop.  Everyone in the team plays a part in ensuring the smooth running of the operation, providing an excellent customer experience and maximizing profits so that more funds are available to benefit patients and their families.

The team has ambitions to generate nearly £1.6 million this year, and every penny helps the hospice’s doctors, nurses and other professional staff provide expert care and support for local people with terminal or life-limiting illnesses and their families, in the hospice and at home.

Part time (30 hrs. per week worked over 4/5 days)

£18,576 - £19,918 per annum, pro rata

(cost of living increase pending)

The role:

You’ll provide highly accurate and effective administration support to the retail team, and act as the first point of contact for all enquiries to the retail team, providing excellent customer service at all times.

You’ll effectively manage multiple processes including our house collection booking service, retail gift aid administration and volunteer data administration.

Alongside this, you’ll oversee the volunteer-run on site gift shop, and provide occasional cover supporting volunteers at our charity shops when required.

What you need:

We are looking for someone with good IT skills, some experience of administration and of dealing with the public.

You will be highly organised, with an eye for detail and an eagerness to maintain high standards.

You also need excellent communication skills, including a good telephone manner, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Finally, you will need to be passionate about our cause and demonstrate a strong commitment to the hospice’s values of compassion, respect, professionalism, excellence, inclusivity and collaboration.
