Bolton Hospice introduces new Complementary Colour Therapy sessions

This week Bolton Hospice hosted their first ever Colour Therapy session.

Colour Therapy uses colour and light to promote relaxation, reducing symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression whilst improving mood and energy levels.colour therapy

The session focussed on colour analysis, a technique that identifies colours of clothing, makeup, and hair that best harmonize with people’s natural features.

Participants took a short quiz and tried on handmade colour wheel masks to see which colour palette worked best for them.

Sally, who discovered she was a ‘light summer’ colour season, said:

“I really enjoyed the session.  Everyone got on well and made suggestions for each other.  We had a real laugh too

Anyone of any age or gender would enjoy it – I’d 100% recommend it

I’m very happy with my colours and I’m going to find some new clothes to match my palette!”

Each participant was also given a small, printed copy of their colour season to take away and use when shopping for new clothes, makeup and more.

The therapy takes place at the hospice Wellbeing Hub, a flexible, drop-in support service for local people living with life-limiting illness, and their carers.

The hub offers access to specialist services such as symptom management, advice clinics, outpatient clinics, and wellbeing sessions like Colour Therapy.

The new addition forms part of the hospice’s complementary therapies, which also includes Aromatherapy, Reflexology and Sound Therapy.
