Record number of Christmas trees collected despite difficult weather conditions

Around 635 real Christmas trees were collected between 6th and 7th January from across Bolton, as part of Bolton Hospice’s 2026 Christmas Tree Collection.

The hospice team drove around all BL postcodes, collecting trees up to 15ft in size, despite snowy conditions.

Additional vans and volunteers were provided by several supporting organisations including MJ May Transport, University of Greater Manchester, The ExcluSec Group, Bolton at Home, Arbworks, Lostock Skip Hire Ltd and Carrs Pasties.

Thank you so much to everyone for supporting this year’s Christmas Tree collections, your kind donations will help Bolton Hospice care for local families when they it most. It was lovely to meet so many of you out and about and a huge thank you to the companies who supported despite difficult weather conditions.’ - Jack Savage, Digital and Projects Lead

Trees were collected for a suggested minimum donation of £15.  Monies are still being collected, with the total raised to be announced in the coming weeks.

Bookings for next Christmas’ real tree collections will open in mid November.
