On Sunday, local woman Beth Jenkins will be lacing up her running shoes to tackle the Manchester Half Marathon in a heartfelt tribute to her late sister, Abigail Clegg.

Beth

Beth is running to raise vital funds for us, her sister, Abigail received compassionate end-of-life care last year, after being diagnosed with brain cancer.

"I'm raising money for Bolton Hospice in memory of my beautiful big sister, Abigail," said Beth. "During her final weeks, the team at Bolton Hospice provided not only expert medical care, but also immense compassion, dignity, and support - both for her and for our family. Their kindness and dedication made an unbearable time a little more bearable, and I will always be grateful for the way they looked after her."

The half marathon is Beth's way of giving back to the charity that provided such comfort during a difficult time. "Running the Manchester Half Marathon is my way of giving back to this incredible place, so they can continue to support other families facing the most difficult moments of their lives," she added.

The funds raised by Beth will help us to continue to provide its vital services to local families facing terminal and life-limiting illnesses.

Angela Griffiths, Fundraising Manager at Bolton Hospice expressed her thanks. "We are incredibly grateful for Beth's dedication and support in taking on the Manchester Half Marathon for us. It's a beautiful way to honour her sister's memory. Every pound she raises will make a direct difference to the lives of our patients and their families, ensuring we can continue to offer the highest level of care and support when it is needed most."
