Director of Finance and Corporate Services
Bolton Hospice is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Director of Finance and Corporate Services to join our Senior Leadership Team. (AfC Band 8b) Up to £72,293 per annum
37.5hours per week per week
The Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and accountable to the Board of Trustees, you will lead the finance and corporate services functions, ensuring financial sustainability, excellent governance, and the efficient delivery of non-clinical services across the organisation. You will be responsible for financial strategy, reporting, risk management, estates and facilities, IT, and health and safety. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you’ll be instrumental in supporting the Hospice’s strategic direction and upholding our values of compassion, respect, professionalism, excellence, inclusivity and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on all financial operations, reporting, and compliance including budgeting, auditing, and statutory accounts.
- Provide expert financial advice to the CEO, Treasurer, and Board of Trustees.
- Oversee non-clinical services including estates, IT infrastructure, health and safety, and facilities management.
- Support strategic planning, contractual negotiations, and capital projects.
- Develop and manage effective policies, systems, and procedures to ensure transparency, value for money, and compliance with relevant legislation.
- Lead and inspire a small, dedicated finance and corporate services team.
What We’re Looking For:
- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with significant senior-level financial management experience.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong understanding of charity finance, governance and regulatory compliance.
- Experience managing estates, IT, and/or health and safety in a leadership capacity is desirable.
- A collaborative, hands-on leader with a values-driven approach and a passion for making a difference in your community.
