Volunteer Emily takes her next steps in nursing

We were delighted to have a visit from one of our previous ward volunteers at the hospice, when Emily Clegg came to have her photo taken standing next to an old promotional banner featuring her as a hospice volunteer! We are always looking for new faces to bring different skills and qualities into the hospice; no matter your circumstances and background, there is a volunteer role to suit you!

Emily is now training to be a nurse at the University of Salford and she wanted a photo in her uniform at the hospice for her portfolio, to show how far she has already come in her nursing career from her days as a ward volunteer.

Emily shared:

“I volunteered at the hospice, on the ward, for well over a year, and loved every second of it! The staff are incredible and guided me with following my career in nursing. I have gained valuable experience which has helped me throughout my nurse training so far. It was a privilege to support the patients and staff at Bolton Hospice.”
