Supporting Hospice, One Jump at a Time
Two brave brothers-in-law, Jez and Tim, recently took a leap of faith for us. The pair tandem skydived to raise funds in memory of their beloved mother in law, Liz Isherwood, who was cared for at the hospice in 2019.
“A few years ago my mother in law passed away with cancer and during her illness she spent some time in Bolton Hospice.” says Tim. “The staff were amazing with her and the family, always happy to help and couldn't do enough to make sure Liz was comfortable. Seeing the amazing work they do and the people they help was just inspiring, so when I turned 40 and decided to finally put aside my fear of heights and do a skydive, my brother Jez and I felt it was the obvious choice to raise money for the hospice.”
The skydive was a thrilling experience for both brothers-in-law, who overcame their fears to support Bolton Hospice. Their courageous act has already raised over £1,000, which will go towards providing vital care and support to Bolton Hospice patients and their families.
Emma Mitson, Fundraiser at Bolton Hospice said, "We are incredibly grateful to Jez and Tim for their incredible bravery and generosity. Their selfless act has raised vital funds that will make a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families. Not many people could throw themselves out of a plane, which makes what this pair have achieved all the more inspiring!"
