Bolton man runs 100km to thank hospice caring for his mother-in-law!
A Bolton man, Ross Hayden, is taking on an incredible challenge this September, running 100km to raise vital funds for us as we are currently caring for his wife's mother, Carol. The family has already raised over £2,200, but is hoping to bring in more funds to support the our vital work.
The challenge is deeply personal for the runner, whose mother -in-law, Carol, is receiving care at the hospice following a “devastating cancer diagnosis”.
"This diagnosis has been incredibly hard to come to terms with, and it makes the care she’s now receiving all the more important to us," Ross explained.
He describes Carol as "the kind of person who would do anything for anyone - full of love, generosity, and strength." Seeing her well looked after by the hospice team has brought the family great comfort during an incredibly difficult time.
Ross added, "The team there have not only cared for Carol with compassion and dignity, but have also supported my wife, myself, and our whole family in ways we’ll never forget."

Ross’ 100km run is a way to give back and say thank you, ensuring that others can receive the same specialist care and support when they need it most.
