Bolton Hospice reviews Greenhalgh's Paddy McGuinness Pie
Patients, staff and volunteers were treated to a pie tasting earlier this week when Greenhalgh’s kindly donated several of their ‘Steak and McGuinness’ pies, and it’s fair to say they went down a storm!
Fronted by Paddy McGuinness, the limited-edition bake is part of Greenhalgh’s yearlong fundraising efforts to raise 70 thousand pounds for their 70th birthday, next year. The total raised will be split between Bolton Hospice and Derian House. All profits from the pie will be donated.
The pie is Greenhalgh’s take on a traditional steak and ale pie, which patients praised for its “real homemade feel”. Volunteers noted the “true taste of Guinness” and its “proper Bolton appeal”. One nurse also pointed out the “delicious crispy pasty that melts in your mouth. 100% recommend”.
All tasting plates were left empty, without a single crumb in sight.
When put down to a vote, the pie was given 5 stars and is now officially Bolton Hospice approved!
Bolton Hospice have teamed up with Derian House for their taste testing video, which you can watch here.
