Bolton Hospice kicks off Valentines Day celebrations with ‘Love Bird’ crafts session
Bolton Hospice’s Wellbeing Hub has hosted two weeks of love-themed craft sessions ahead of Valentine’s Day on the 14th February.
Last week’s session was making hanging heart decorations and ‘love birds’ which were added to two light up tree sculptures in the Hub’s sitting area. This week participants have been creating their own ideas, from jewellery to quote ornaments.
The sessions form part of Bolton Hospice’s Complementary Therapy, which also includes Aromatherapy, Reflexology and Crystal Therapy sessions.
Wellbeing Hub Sister, Lisa Ridgley said: “Creative therapy is a great way to reduce stress and promote a feeling of wellbeing. Themed sessions are good because it means patients don’t have to spend too much time brainstorming. We’re planning to have Easter crafting sessions later in the year, too.”
Some crafters are planning to decorate their homes with their ornaments, while others are gifting their creations to loved ones.
The Wellbeing Hub itself has also been decorated with lanterns and love notes for the big day.
