Cost of Living Appeal - Update

It's been just over 4 months since we launched our urgent appeal, addressing the worrying financial burden the cost of living crisis and years of below inflation government NHS funding have placed on us. We have been overwhelmed with the incredible kindness, support and generosity of the people of Bolton and beyond, and we are delighted to say that, since July, we have raised an extra £450,000 so far this year - thank you!

This is a huge step towards closing our £1.2million funding gap, but sadly the size of the deficit which remains still leaves us in an unsustainable financial position, and we're still working hard to secure a fairer financial contribution from the government. We are calling on NHS commissioners to act before the end of this year so that we can avoid cutting back vital hospice services for local people.

Even though our appeal is ongoing and we may still have to consider cutting some of our services if no further funding is forthcoming, we couldn't be more grateful for your unwavering support and continued generosity. Every penny will be used to sustain our care and support for local people that bit longer – a priceless gift for the families we support.

"Considering Lesley was only in the hospice for three days – three days of relative calm and serenity - at the end of her life, it has become a special place for me.

It would simply be a huge loss if anything happened to the services here. It means so much to so many people in different, individual ways, we can’t lose it.”

If you would like to continue supporting the hospice through what is still a difficult time, you can find out more about donating to our urgent appeal, or why not join one of our festive events, donate your unwanted items to our shops, or give as little as 3 hours a week to become a volunteer.
